Today marks 30 years since I (officially) started my Cablespeed journey and what a journey it has been! I am incredibly fortunate to have been (and continue to be) mentored by my Father Walter Kos.

Walter entered the industry in 1986 as the Service and Sales Director for Contax, the then UK agent for Komax and was instrumental in the successes of Komax in the UK and Ireland during the 80s & 90s.
In 1992 Walter started Cablespeed as an independent supplier of wire processing equipment including WEZAG GmbH & Co. KG and Zoller + Fröhlich GmbH Christoph Froehlich to name a few. One of his first major projects was the complete in-house development and build of the VERY FIRST first fully automatic dual wire twisting and crimping machine lines for Lucas Automotive Group. This design went on to inspire the Komax Alpha 488 and Sigma series machines.

His passion for this industry was the main driving factor of me wanting to enter it and in 2003 we began the fruitful partnership as the UK agent for Artos Engineering & John Olsen.

Over the years we navigated many ups and downs including Globalisation, the move away of all Automotive manufacturing from the UK, 2007 financial crash, Brexit, Covid etc but hard work and dedication to providing the best possible service carried us though the tough times, and remains our ethos to this day.

In 2022 we were delighted to return to the Komax family as the exclusive distributor for the UK & Ireland and so started our new journey to rebuild what had been a chronically underinvested and under supported market. None of our recent successes however would have been possible without the incredible hard work and sacrifice of Stefan Luder. A massive thank you for what you have done for us, thanks for guiding us through the transition, answering my many 11pm phone calls, constant messages and general pain in the arse requests. I am thankful to call you my dear friend.

Most recently we welcomed the new partnership with Schleuniger Global as part of the Komax group and the new increased product portfolio this opens up to our customers.
